Ultrasonography at INVICTA Clinic
At INVICTA Clinic we provide ultrasonography examination (USG) performed by qualified specialists on technologically advanced diagnostic equipment.
We provide, inter alia, the following USG procedures:
-
Thyroid USG
Thyroid USG is one of the fundamental and essential diagnostic test of this organ. The examination is conducted using ultrasonic scanner, that consists of linear probe with high frequency.
Zwiń
Ultrasonography of the thyroid is the examination of very high cognitive value, which is mainly due to superficial location of the organ. Ultrasonic waves penetrate the thyroid easily, enabling the assessment of changes in its flesh. Additionally, color-coded Doppler allows the assessment of organ vascularization or individual lesions within it.
By means of ultrasonography the topography of the thyroid, its volume, structure, flesh and spilled focal recognize changes (nodules) of the thyroid can be recognized.
-
Prenatal USG
Prenatal USG is conducted in the 22nd week of pregnancy. It is suitable for patients of all ages. It confirms fetal well - being after 20th week of pregnancy. It includes detailed examinations of all the organs (nervous system, heart, chest, abdominal cavity, limbs etc.). The examination is conducted with the use of abdominal probe, during the examination all the fetal organs are evaluated, in the search of specific symptoms confirming the risk of fetal disease.
Performance of the examination does not require any special preparation of the patient.

Breast USG
It is imaging method of examination with ultrasound. It is becoming increasingly important in the diagnosis of breast cancer, not only because of its undoubted value but also because it is noninvasive, painless and completely safe (it can also be used on pregnant women and nursing mothers).

USG NT
Conducted between 11th and 14th week of pregnancy. It is suitable for patients of all ages. It detects early genetic defects of fetus. During the examination, the doctor determines nuchal translucency i.e. the size of fluid space in the area of subcutaneous tissue on the fetus’s neck. In majority of Down syndrome cases and other genetic defects this space is too wide) and the presence of nasal bone (in majority of Down syndrome cases nasal bone is short or does not exist at all).
Other parameters attesting to fetal defects are examined as well.

Testicular USG
The test allows the assessment of the scrotum's contents: testicles, epididymides, their casings and the presence of varicocele. The procedure is recommended to be performed in each case of testicular pain, scrotal enlargement, palpable tumor, leakage from the urethra. In case of the absence of testicle in the scrotum, it is possible to discover the causes of this condition. The examination requires no preparation. The test can be performed on patients of any age, it is painless and can be repeated without exposing the patient to harmful radiation.

Doppler USG
This test allows the precise location of small blood vessels, which supply the individual structures in the human body. Changes in the color saturation correspond to different velocity or energy of blood flow, vessels showing an illegal construction of the wall. For example, changes in blood flow in the portal vein and its branches, in hepatic veins and hepatic artery, allow for very early identification of a number of changes in the liver. Color Doppler helps to assess some rapidly growing tumors, including malignant tumors. USG Doppler, as the only procedure that enables assessment of blood flow in the placenta and umbilical cord, plays the important role in various pregnancy complications.
Zwiń
USG Doppler is noninvasive and painless examination.
-
Abdominal USG
Presently, abdominal USG is one of the most common and essential diagnostic test. The examination is conducted using ultrasonic scanner, that consists of probe head transmitter and receiver of ultrasound waves) and a camera that transforms received signals into an image. When ultrasonic waves reach the internal organs, after the computer analysis, an outline of the examined organ is displayed on a monitor.
Zwiń
The screen displays a black and white image which in real - time allows not only to observe organs' shape but also their movement, depending on respiration rate, pulsation, peristaltic waves and fetal movements. Abdominal USG is is noninvasive, painless and safe examination (ultrasonic wave energy is small, therefore the possibility of tissue damage is minimal).
-
3D/4D USG
3D / 4D USG is the most up to date ultrasonography method, which enables both completely safe and accurate assessment of pregnancy and transfer of three - dimensional fetal image (child's appearance, characteristic features, verification of the correctness of development) in real - time (movements and behavior in mother's womb). During 3D/4D examination child anatomy can be examined more thoroughly, especially the appearance of the face, hands, legs, fingers and internal organs. This is one of the elements of early detection of fetal birth defects. The image can be freely rotated, which provides a unique opportunity to see the fetus from many different views.
